NYC Street Scenes

New York City is arguably the birthplace of street photography in the US. The famous New York photographer WeeGee was one that I always thought defined the genre. What a great place to practice the art of street photography. I will post a few shots over the coming days that I took while on the streets of the Big Apple.

The Empire State Building is again the the tallest structure in the city. At least until the rebuilding of Ground Zero is complete. What a grand old Art Deco structure!

This guy was trying to take a rest amid the bustle of Times Square at the corner of 48th and Broadway. I loved the way the sunlight was bathing him just where he was laying and the shadows of the tall buildings were everywhere else.

New York pizza is da bomb. This place served slices so big there was no way to finish it!

Loved the vendors in the street. It's a touch of old New York that still lives.

Manhattan. A grand place to be. A city that never sleeps.

Old architecture abounds. New and old mix together in harmony. The city boasts a great collection of famous architecture.

Cute old couple waling up Broadway arm in arm.

Busy. Busy.

A moment to ourselves in a restaurant on Broadway.

No expense spared when the grand old lady was built.

Times Square.

The famous Flatiron Building from the air.
